This November I will be trekking 100 km across the Sahara Desert of Morocco in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region!
Without a doubt this will be an incredible challenge for me both physically and mentally, but it is nothing compared to the challenges women and children in crisis face every day in Waterloo Region and across Canada.
I will be trekking for up to 7 hours a day for 5 straight days with colleagues from Royal LePage offices across Canada. We will be hiking across difficult terrain in this hot and dry desert climate. With temperatures dropping considerably at night. We will be sleeping in large group tents, using camping-style bathroom facilities, and going without electricity, and other comforts of home.
100% of the funds raised will go to support women and children in times of need. 80% of the funds I raise will stay in Waterloo Region in direct support of Women’s Crisis Services. The remaining funds to support the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation’s programs across Canada. I am responsible for covering the entire cost of my trip, so all funds donated will go directly to support the charities mentioned above.
I hope you can be a part of this incredible journey and support such a worthy cause. I have set my fundraising goal at $7,500 and charitable donation receipts will be issued for all donations over $20. Thank you in advance for all of your support and encouragement!
